[Hyper Square]

Very interesting concept!

This game reminds me of a mixture of a game called impossible mission on C64 and a game called Pitfall off of the atari 2600. Both old school classics.
I love the difficulty settings option. Hard kicks me straight up my ass!
This is a really good game as always Eggy! Gratz on another well done and I hope you get front page.

[The Basics (Tutorial)]

Very good tutorial

Very impressive. Noobs and itermediate alike should get use from this. Its very in depth and very well thought out. It should def. be added to the flash tutorials page that all new users to flash should view.
You get an A plus..plus..plus..plus!!

This was a decent sound board..but front page?
Must not have been much competition or someone has alot of friends.

Nice Background tutorial

The only problem I founfd was the NEXT button about halway thru didnt work. It took me back to the previous page instead of the next one. I just right clicked and chose play tho and it moved along fine.

It only took me one try and 15 seconds to beat it, but it was fun while it lasted.

I have a few more suggestions...

The humor you've put in the game so far is great, keep it up. I loved the trees afro-slap.
So far it looks like your doing everything right. The only problem I see you running into is file size issues. I mean, just the intro and 2 battles are running at almost 1400kb..that seems a bit much. I'm imagining the sound you are using is taking up the most space since you dont seem to be using very many gradients or much shading. The first thing I would do is work on getting the file size managable. Goto Flashkit or look in Flashs help files for info on optimizing all your files.
The battle set up is really sweet. I like all the different options you have.
As far as the blood goes...who cares?? None of the zelda, or early final fantasies, or Secret of Mana, or mario RPG had that shit, so I wouldnt eben sweat it. People who want to see blood to feel a game is complete are idiots and need to go seek mental. Blood doesnt make a game any better. Is its good, its good regardless of the red splatters.

Yeah, the file size issue is a major concern to me as well, and while the sound contributes to the size, I noticed its only 300Kb of it. So where is everything else? Well, I made this pretty messy and there are a lot of frames and layers and groups that might take up more space than necessary or are being duplicated, I'll go to flashkit and take a look at it. I want to optimize it as much as I can. Finally someone who thinks there shouldn't be blood :) Anyway thanks for your review.
